What We Do

CAPP is a voluntary, non-profit organization with an important mission - to act as a collective voice for the promotion of appropriate playground environments. It recognizes the current National Standard of Canada, prepared by the Canadian Standards Association with regards to Children's Playspaces and Equipment, namely CAN/CSA-Z614, as a minimum standard of compliance for playspaces within Canada.

CAPP acts in

  • ongoing development of playground standards or guidelines
  • promoting and developing barrier-free playgrounds
  • maintaining professional standards of playground practice by monitoring members' adherence to the CAPP Code of Ethics

CAPP is also a valuable resource for owner/operators and the general public.

These resources include

  • a resource library of all current national and international playground related industry guidelines and standards as a reference tool for its membership
  • strategic alliances with parks and recreation departments, school boards, day care operators, community groups, and government departments to enhance our common interest in playground safety
