The Canadian Association of Playground Practitioners (CAPP) is a voluntary non-profit organization, comprised of experienced
individuals, sharing the common goal of the promotion of appropriate playground environments.
These playground practitioners, by definition, have playground industry-related experience from a wide range of applications,
including, but not limited to, the following: playground inspection, retrofit, design, supervision, management, and manufacture or
sales of related amenities. Some of the more experienced members have multi-disciplinary backgrounds, giving them the ability to
consider a number of different aspects that go into creating and maintaining a successful playspace.
In the summer of 1999, a small group of playground professionals saw a need to compile and share resources and experiences, and
formed an Ontario-based organization. By March of 2001, the need to encompass all of Canada was realized with the official
formation of CAPP. A comprehensive Code of Ethics was written as an integral component of membership within the association.
Adherance to this Code was and currently is expected of all members of this association. Today CAPP draws strength from a diverse
and growing membership from coast to coast. |
